Ella Pocketbook is a sustainable travel handbag business for today’s global woman. This accessory lifestyle company is for women of colour who travel abroad by enhancing highly functional compartments with cactus fabric and ethical labor standards. Studies show women make 85% of travel decisions (Conde Nast Traveler 2021) and according to Harvard Business Review, women have $15 billion in spending power. These numbers indicate a market that is double that of China and India’s growth market combined.
Prototype Process
The process of creating a sustainable travel handbag begins with women of color and their travel experiences. I wanted to create a prototype travel bag because travel has been the biggest champion in my life. Here are three phases of the prototype process.
